If everyone decided today to driver greener, we'd have less global warming to worry about. How can we start driving green today? Here you'll find 5 great tips to get you started driving green.
1. This definitely tops the list to going green when it comes to driving, stop driving! Some of us don't have that option so what you can do is drive slower instead. A majority of vehicles perform best when driving around 55 MPH on the highway. You'll save the environment and save gas at the same time.
3. Lighten the weight in your car. A great place to start is by removing any junk you don't need from your trunk. If you don't need it, get rid of it. You'll be driving smart and saving green with a light load and you save gas too!
4. Turn off your engine if you're sitting for a long period of time. You burn the same amount when you restart your engine as you do idling for 1 minute. If you think you'll be sitting for longer than a minute, cut the engine. You'll save gas and money.
5. Don't be a rough driver. Quick acceleration and hard braking will consume more gas than if you did not. This kind of driving also puts more wear and tear on your car. This will cost you more and hurt the environment.
Take advantage of the easy ways to saving the earth and helping the environment by purchasing a hybrid vehicle, if you can afford to. You know you save green by claiming your hybrid purchase on your tax returns. You also have a car that will help our environment and save you some green on gasoline. You can drive your new stylish hybrid vehicle around knowing you're doing the earth a favor by emitting less emissions which doesn't add to global warming. You also can stop less at the gas pump.
Driving smart is really just common sense. If you really need to drive, then drive smart and save green. If you have the option to walk, ride a bicycle, or take a bus, do so. You'll be helping the earth even more.
